Compliance Officer | Financial Services | Amsterdam (hybrid working)
Our client is a major stock exchange and technology provider. They have a newly created role for a Compliance Officer to join the team. Reporting into the Head of Compliance, you will be afforded a niche and varied role with plenty of exposure of setting up in new jurisdictions (UK & NL), project related compliance, AML, GDPR, Conflicts of Interest, Staff Dealing, MiFID, MiFIR, DORA and more.
Key Responsibilities:
- Developing, reviewing, and updating internal procedural and policy.
- Conducting transaction monitoring, customer due diligence (CDD), and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews.
- Keeping up to date with relevant laws and regulations, and internal policies.
- Analysing alerts generated by AML systems and investigating unusual or suspicious activity.
- Performing periodic risk assessments and client reviews to ensure continued compliance.
- Working alongside Risk and Internal Audit to conduct risk assessments and compliance audits to understand risk levels, significance, and scope.
- Preparing regular compliance reports (inc SARs) to both senior management and regulators.
- Help to advise management and staff on compliance matters and issues as well as compliance training for all staff.
- Educate employees on regulations and the impact of non-compliance, incl. assist with the organisation and provision of required trainings.
What We're Looking For:
- 3+ years of experience in AML, compliance, or financial investigations.
- Excellent understanding of AML regulatory frameworks and industry best practices.
- Experience working in a trading venue (e.g., MTF).
- Good understanding of GDPR, Conflicts of Interest, Staff Dealing, MiFID, MiFIR, MAR, DORA, and the supplementing regulations.
- Experience with AML monitoring systems and corporate AML/KYB is a plus.
- Excellent analytic, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and proven ability to work with complex regulatory texts.
- Excellent organisation skills with the ability to prioritise tasks, plan workloads, and meet tight deadlines.
- Willingness to learn and a 'can-do' attitude.
Please note that you will be required to work in their Amsterdam office 3 days per week.
