You will lead, manage and develop the Financial Services Team, including budgets and the performance of the team, ensuring that the activities and service provided by the team is efficient, effective and adds value to the Council and a culture of continuous improvement is developed.
Ensure the following key areas of the team's work are delivered within relevant statutory and corporate deadlines and are reported to the appropriate committee:
* Setting and monitoring the Council's budgets and reporting the outturn position
* Closure of the accounts at year-end and producing the statement of accounts
* Treasury management strategy, outturn and the day-to-day treasury activities.
* Accounting for taxation
* Statutory financial returns are completed.
Provide high quality and timely financial advice and information to officers and councillors and ensure good working relationships with the internal and external auditors and any partner organisations.
Ensure that any information that is requested from internal or external parties is provided on a timely basis and is of good quality.
